Meet Dr. Harkirat Sran DMD, MBS
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Harkirat Sran came to the East Coast to pursue dentistry after completing a double major in Chemistry and Biology at the University of Washington.
He earned his Master's in Biomedical Science from Rutgers University with an emphasis in Oral Biology, then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During his time at Tufts, he demonstrated clinical excellence and was awarded the prestigious Osher Scholarship.
Dr. Sran built Astra Dental for patients who want modern care without feeling rushed or talked over. His goal is to explain what is happening, show the options clearly, and help patients choose treatment that fits their health, goals, and long-term confidence.
Advanced Implant and Surgical Training
Dr. Sran's interest in implant dentistry began early. In his final year of dental school, he was selected to attend a surgical implant course in Cartagena, Colombia, an experience that pushed him deeper into implant planning, surgical principles, and full-mouth rehabilitation.
Since then, he has continued to invest heavily in advanced training. He is a graduate of the Simply Implant Institute and has trained at Colorado Surgical Institute in advanced oral surgical procedures, including surgical planning, extractions, bone and soft-tissue considerations, and management of more complex cases.
That training gives patients a more complete conversation. Whether the right answer is saving a natural tooth, restoring a broken tooth, replacing a missing tooth, or planning implants, Dr. Sran evaluates the whole picture before recommending treatment.
A Modern Office Built Around Better Planning
At Astra Dental, Dr. Sran combines advanced training with digital dentistry and in-house lab technology. The office uses digital scanners, 3D printing, and milling capabilities for porcelain crowns and restorations, allowing many cases to be planned and restored with more precision and efficiency.
He enjoys the technical side of dentistry, but patients know him for being direct, approachable, and thorough. If a case is simple, he keeps it simple. If a case is complex, he breaks it down so the patient understands the diagnosis, the options, the timeline, and the why behind the plan.
Outside the operatory, dentistry is very much a family story for Dr. Sran. His wife, Dr. K, is a board-certified pediatric dentist and the owner of Little Teeth of Stratford, a pediatric dental office created for infants, children, teens, and children with special needs.
Together, Dr. Sran and Dr. K live in Stratford and are raising their family in the same community they serve. Astra Dental and Little Teeth of Stratford give local families a simple connection point: thoughtful adult dentistry with Dr. Sran, and warm pediatric dental care with Dr. K.
